Silversmith
A NEW GENERATION OF CABLE DESIGN

Silver Cables

silversmithsilverSpeakercableblublk
Silversmith Audio's Silver speaker cables reflect their design philosophy in its purest form: A single conductor per polarity - an ultra-thin ribbon of pure silver, seamless from end to end, without traditional solder or crimp connectors, and encased in an extremely thin wall Teflon™ tube system designed to maintain a primarily air dielectric

The design philosophy behind the speaker cables also guides the construction of the Silversmith Audio interconnect cables. Thin wall Teflon™ tubes encase and separate the two (three for XLR) ultra-thin silver ribbons and maintain a primarily air dielectric. A mesh shield, floating at one end, provides excellent RF/EMI rejection.

An audio cable should convey the electromagnetic waveform without error, regardless of whether that waveform represents analog information or digital information. Therefore, the Silversmith Audio analog and digital interconnects are identical. Thin wall Teflon™ tubes encase and separate the two (three for AES-EBU) ultra-thin silver ribbons and maintain a primarily air dielectric. A mesh shield, floating at one end, provides excellent RF/EMI rejection.

The Current cable represents a significant departure from other cables using the Lemo connectors. Like all Silversmith Audio cables, it utilizes solid-core ribbon/air dielectric construction, but it also uses a true three conductor plus floating shield geometry instead of the two conductor and signal carrying shield geometry of other Lemo-connector cables. The Current cable is fully compatible with those Krell® electronics which incorporate their CAST™ technology.

Palladium Cables

The design philosophy behind the speaker cables also guides the construction of the Silversmith Audio interconnect cables. The Palladium interconnects share the same shielded, ultra-thin ribbon/air-dielectric geometry as the Silver line, but instead of silver, use a state-of-the-art palladium alloy that does not oxidize and has skin-effect related properties representing up to a 25 fold improvement over those of gold, silver, copper, and aluminum.

Connectors

BulletPlugblk
The Bullet Plug, manufactured by Eichmann Technologies, has been modified by Silversmith Audio to include a silver-plated (non signal carrying) barrel for improved RF shielding.
NeutrikXLRblk
Audio connectors are subject to the same laws of physics as the wires that connect them together. So, realizing the sonic pitfalls of thick metal and poor dielectric material anywhere in the signal path, Silversmith Audio has adopted connectors that closely follow our ultra-thin ribbon and air dielectric geometry. These very special RCA and XLR connectors utilize very small and/or thin-wall, hollow pins to conduct the signal and thus, like our cables, cause the least possible degradation to the electromagnetic waveform. The XLR connector is manufactured by Neutrik. and uses silver contacts.
